“Jenny Again”

Tungg

. Close up of outside, nature.

. Grass, wind, butterfly’s, creates setting and atmosphere

. Extreme close up of mans face- specifically eye and mouth. Appears to be the singer- watching the world go by (day dreaming or dead)

. Extreme close up of female hand driving a car- cuts to music “take car and runaway” creates specific images- shows narrative.

. Horizontal and vertical lines when we see the trees and pylons together as a long shot.

. Medium shots of extras in the video.

. Main focus of man- solo artist in the video- no other shots of band.

. Close up of police sign- signifies something bad has happened.

. By listening to the song and reading the lyrics I came up with there being two stories which was that “Jenny So Shy” quoted from the song that perhaps an accident had happened, someone has been killed, had they ‘fell’ or did someone use a ‘knife’.

. We picture these images in our head and what we see allows us to create our own conclusions.

. There are a lot of natural colours; greens, yellows and blues

. Outside- nature- natural again

. Cuts of different outside locations.

. Panning of woods and slight zoom as if someone is walking somewhere.

. Dissolve of ‘’Jenny’’ into woods.

. Blurred effects on ‘crime scene’ purposely used for affect.

. Quick cuts of different locations.

. Quick cuts of trees and sky to show time changing.

. Narrative/edited voice of ‘’Jenny So Shy’’

. Guitar is constantly played.

. Singing is as a voice over. There is no specific band.

. Lip syncing in one point of the song strange/edited voice over.

. There is no performance just acting as if there is a narrative/ storyline.

  1. You've included the music video, but not the analysis. Make sure you analyse this video.

  2. Good. You've included the analysis. When you are doing your analysis make sure you're also talk about how meaning is created. Why are they using butterflies etc with in the mise en scene, what meaning is being created?
